Wardha, March 28, 2024: In a remarkable feat, Aastha Ghongade, a third-year Civil Engineering student at Bajaj Institute of Technology (BIT), Wardha, secured the 2nd prize in Avishkar 2023-24, a prestigious state-level project competition organized by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. The competition, held as part of the 16th Maharashtra State Inter-University Research Convention, attracted participation from talented students across the state.
Aastha’s journey to success in Avishkar 2023-24 began with her outstanding performance at the institute level, followed by victories at the zonal and university levels. Her winning project, centered on the theme “Technological Solution for Safe Disposal of Menstrual Waste” in the Engineering and Technology category, garnered widespread acclaim for its innovation and practicality.
Under the mentorship of Dr. Sanjay Mahajan, Head of the Civil Engineering Department, and Dr. Prathik Kulkarni, Professor of Civil Engineering at BIT, Aastha navigated through major rounds of the competition, which included poster presentation and podium presentation. Her meticulous research and innovative approach set her apart from the competition, earning her the coveted 2nd prize.
In recognition of her achievement, Aastha was awarded a prestigious fellowship of Rs. 33 thousand for 12 months, along with a trophy and certificate. The accolades poured in from all quarters, with Shri Sanjay Bhargava, Chairman of Shiksha Mandal, Dr. Narendra Kanhe, Principal of BIT, and faculty members of the college, congratulating Aastha for her dedication and hard work.
